A Kowloon institution, Yat Tung Heen has developed a loyal following since opening more than 30 years ago. First-class cooking is the reason. Highlights like the golden-fried crispy chicken, the honey-glazed barbecued pork, and the double-boiled pig lung soup with fish maw and almonds are what have justifiably earned the restaurant a dedicated fan base. First-time diners can try the degustation menu, which offers a taste of all Yat Tung Heen's signature dishes. The current 1960s feel was inspired by Wong Kar-wai's modern classic In the Mood for Love, and the interiors are serene and cosy, with wood panels and amber-stained glass giving a comforting vibe. This and the food make for a welcome hiatus from the hectic streets outside.
