The Mira hotel is an underrated gem. Measured against its neighbourhood rivals, it can't claim the heritage of The Peninsula or the contemporary luxury of Rosewood, but its casual chic is unmatched. Much the same could be said of the food at Whisk, the hotel's outstanding Japanese-French concept. Young chef de cuisine William Lau – recipient of our Rising Star award in 2023 – has done much to keep things fresh. Plant-based alternatives for entire menus are available on request, and the seasonally inspired menus mean every visit is full of new delights. Recent highlights have included guinea fowl with kabocha squash, morello cherry and shogayaki, and bouchot mussels paired with genmai , chawanmushi and sauce du Mont Saint-Michel.
