Few restaurants in Hong Kong seem as warm and inviting as Vivant. Walking past in the evening, the space glows like something out of a Dickens novel. Seating only around 20 guests, it feels cosy, promising a relaxed atmosphere. The concept is casual gastronomy and something of a rarity these days – it's all a la carte. Diners can indulge in such earthy dishes as the potato mille-feuille with smoked eel rillette, the seared scallops with pistachio cream and watercress, or the monkfish with a piquillo pepper sauce.
