Some worried that the quality at The Steak House – a beloved Hong Kong institution – would suffer due to the venue's closure during the Regent's extensive renovations. If anything though, the reopened restaurant is better than ever. The designers at Bar Studio have given the space a facelift and imbued it with a warming, and appropriate, palette of burgundy and charcoal, alongside highlights of copper and gold. The original charcoal grill is still in place – the first to ever be used at a restaurant in Hong Kong – and it is put to good use cooking a variety of top cuts from some of the best farmers around the world.
Don't overlook the famous salad bar, which has also returned with an updated look. It promises a selection of fresh, organic greens, alongside premium mature cheese and charcuterie from France, Spain and Italy.
