One of the buzziest openings in Macau of recent years, Sushi Kissho by Miyakawa continues to deliver on the initial hype. The first international outpost by Masaaki Miyakawa – whose Sushi Miyakawa in Sapporo received three Michelin stars – has racked up a number of awards since opening in 2024, proving this is no lazy spin-off. Miyakawa is familiar with the challenges of running an upscale sushi restaurant outside Japan, having worked at Hong Kong’s three-Michelin-starred Sushi Shikon. Here in Macau, he and his deputies – Raffles touts that they have “98 years of combined expertise” between them – select the freshest ingredients at the peak of their seasonality and deliver a parade of hits in the best Edomae style, using “unique” sushi rice. The serene and minimalist ambience complements the culinary artistry, creating an unforgettable dining journey.
