Sandwiched between Amber and Sushi Shikon, Somm has spent years since opening in 2019 emerging from the considerable shadows of its neighbours. The Mandarin Oriental The Landmark’s post-pandemic push to elevate its F&B concepts has helped the restaurant claim the recognition it has long deserved. Refurbished earlier this year, the neo-Parisian bistro vibe remains casual by MO standards, which still means sharp. Behind the scenes, the kitchen turns out moreish signatures like its dry-aged pigeon with sansho, beetroot with purple shiso, red plum and a Maury reduction, and a winning pan-fried sea bass. Unsurprisingly, the wine list runs deep, with 1,600 options across champagnes, wines and sakes – with more than 50 available by the glass.
