Though Hong Kong is home to a good number of bars that aim to recreate the classic Japanese cocktail experience, none do it quite like Mizunara, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. The menu is broad but each cocktail is a polished creation and the service impeccable. As ever, the hugely extensive whisky collection is among the best in town. Under the leadership of general manager and bartender-in-chief Massimo Petovello, Mizunara continues to set the standard for Japanese cocktail bars in Hong Kong. Petovello has upheld the venue’s original exacting standards, while introducing exciting new creations to the menu. One of many highlights is the spin on the Silver Bullet – a forgotten classic, utilising atemoya, Genever gin, Yasuda sweet potato shochu, Okinawan pineapple wine and caraway liqueur resulting in a creamy, silky low-ABV cocktail, with tropical flavours and spicy notes.
