A leading purveyor of contemporary Korean cuisine in Hong Kong, Hansik Goo has influences that range from homestyle dishes to ones fit for royalty. Head chef Park Seung-hun, with the restaurant since its 2020 opening, continues his predecessor Steve Lee’s mission to elevate Korean food in the city. The menu evolves seasonally, though the Korean fried chicken with delicate yuza jang, available as a side, remains a perennial favourite. The recently introduced Signature Menu includes stand-out dishes such as sea cucumber samgye tang, which places Korean sea cucumber in a ginseng chicken broth and adds chicken skin and daikon mandu dumplings for extra satisfaction. Enriched by abalone, the jeonbok juk takes porridge to an unforeseen level of decadence.
