Gem Garden is a luxe Chiu Chow-style restaurant staffed by a team of Chaoshan natives, led by chef Xu Zhenkun. The restaurant features heritage Chiu Chow recipes – such as raw marinated crab, boneless goose web, Maotai-flambéed conch, and ginger oil poached seafood – while embracing a back-to-basics culinary approach that highlights seasonal ingredients. The dining experience unfolds in a dimly lit courtyard-style space, adorned with vintage collectibles, silk chandeliers, wood carvings and historical artwork. Guests can expect fresh seafood, lu shui marinated dishes, and homestyle, authentic cooking guided by the 24 solar terms – a traditional calendar divided into 24 periods that mark the micro-seasons and commonly associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine.
