
For a neighbourhood as bustling as Tsim Sha Tsui, good cocktail bars remain surprisingly scarce. That makes Avoca a must-visit for anyone seeking something more than a pint or a glass of wine. Though Avoca also serves as one of the Mondrian Hong Kong’s flagship restaurants, it is the bar programme that has garnered the greatest attention. The bar continues to play to its strengths, serving approachable, polished cocktails inspired by the flavours of local childhood memories. Beverage manager Rolf Flaminiano ensured that new hits were added to the menu last year, including the decadent and sweet Egg Waffle which combines rye whiskey infused with house-made egg waffles, banana oleo and egg yolk liqueur. If you’re looking for a refresher, the VLT Sour takes tea-distilled vodka and cuts it with Remy Martin VSOP, peach and pineapple juices, finished with lemon oleo.
