In 2023, Ta Vie joined the exclusive ranks of Hong Kong’s three-Michelin-starred restaurants, an honour it shares with just six other establishments. This recognition is a testament to chef Hideaki Sato’s unwavering culinary philosophy: “pure, simple and seasonal”, which has consistently yielded exceptional results. While the menu presents a familiar concept of French cuisine with Asian accents and Japanese techniques, Ta Vie’s execution sets it apart. Past delights have included Hokkaido crab with Japanese sweetcorn and Cajun butter sauce, and a chocolate crêpe soufflé accompanied by banana-jasmine-meringue ice cream and fermented rice jam. The beverage programme is equally impressive, showcasing Asian heritage through a curated selection of teas, wines and sakes.
