Tsuen Wan may not be the most fashionable neighbourhood in Hong Kong but that hasn’t stopped Nina Hospitality from developing an outstanding fine dining restaurant in the area. Rú was renovated and relaunched in 2023 and has found its feet under the leadership of executive Chinese chef Simon Wong, a man with some 38 years of experience in kitchens at hotels like the Grand Hyatt and W Hong Kong. Here, Wong gives classic Cantonese dishes an update as seen in well-executed dishes like crispy Japanese sea cucumber stuffed with minced pork and shrimp served in a seafood sauce or the steamed minced pork patty with preserved vegetables, dried squid and salted egg.

INSIDER TIP
The window seats may not provide a harbour view, but the view over the Rambler Channel is charming nonetheless and well worth booking if you are able to plan in advance.
