Explicitly a Punjabi restaurant rather than an Indian restaurant, New Punjab Club is, all the same, one of the finest restaurants in town dedicated to the various cuisines of South Asia. What sets this restaurant apart from its peers is the focus on cooking made with its two tandoor ovens and an unapologetically “meat-centric menu”. As a result, dishes here go beyond the stereotypical butter chicken curries of similar restaurants. Instead, guests can sample the potent spiced goat, exquisite lamb chops, Tajima oxtail cooked with black cardamom, and, to think beyond meat for a second, the excellent smoky mogewala paneer with burnt leek ajika.
