Widely recognised as one of Hong Kong’s finest Chinese restaurants, Forum offers a complete dining experience. Founded in 1977 by “abalone king” chef Yeung Koon-yat – who died in 2023 at the age of 90 – the restaurant has consistently served exceptional Cantonese cuisine, coupled with a warm hospitality often lacking in comparable establishments. Abalone remains central, with extensive menu sections dedicated to this delicacy. However, other dishes also shine. The meticulously prepared crispy chicken is among the best available, while the braised oxtail is enhanced by star anise, Alpinia katsumadai (ginger) and chu hou sauce. Even the simple Ah Yat fried rice has achieved iconic status.
