One of the city’s most stylish destinations for quality Cantonese cuisine, Duddell’s functions as a restaurant, bar and gallery, emphasising striking artwork and design. However, the decor doesn’t eclipse the food, which has garnered consistently high praise. The dim sum is excellent, whether it’s the shrimp dumpling with dried flounder powder, or their barbecue pork buns, which come three ways depending when in the month you visit – either steamed, baked or “crispy” wrapped in pastry. Duddell’s selection of classic desserts – from walnut biscuits to salted egg custard buns – is certainly worth leaving room for.
