An unexpected gem on Hart Avenue, Ankôma opened to relatively little fanfare in 2022, but has steadily built a reputation for well-executed fine dining and delicious comfort food. It is no mean feat to successfully straddle both sides of that culinary canyon, but chef Frankie Wong has taken things slow and gradually expanded the offerings at Ankôma at a pace he’s comfortable with. First came the chef’s table, which put to use the skills and experience Wong gained at Michelin-starred restaurants like Zest by Konishi and Écriture. Here, Wong crafts intricately worked seasonal tasting menus that have included an ikura tartlet served on a bed of potato salad, and drunken Morotoge shrimp. The à la carte menu available on the terrace is more casual, but by no means less delicious. Visit if you have a craving for top-draw steak frites or a Wagyu sando.
